Expanding new or existing treatments for pediatric conditions would not be possible without clinical trial volunteers. Pediatric clinical trials could help us develop new medicines that are safe and effective for children. Before deciding if a clinical trial is a good option for you and your child, it is important to learn more about the available trials to make informed decisions about your child’s care options.

  • Clinical trials look at an investigational drug or medical device to see if it is safe for children, how it works in the body, and if it works to treat a specific disease. Clinical trials are conducted by doctors who are responsible for the study participants’ study-related care.

  • To learn more about alternative treatment options for pediatric conditions and help researchers find potential new treatments options for future patients.

  • This will vary depending on the study. The informed consent form (ICF) will detail the visit schedule and what will occur at each visit, and the study team is available to answer any questions.
